in a place where people gather every 100 days
and where strawberries begin with their roots
an expelled visitor from a heavenly station
captured a single frame as a keepsake
a perfect square taken as a piece of Everything
a relief suitable for a face to be pressed into by force
and for bridging the gap of light
he saw flatness
and thought it was a copy of everything the head would see
if it directed its eyes differently
he rubbed a finger into the image
left a mark or two upon the skin
copying the process by which a photograph comes into being
then vanished on one of the walks
in which he became recorded in the books of mute observers
his album is white and soft
often too much so
but the eyes found within it
are small cores of sharp charge Author of the text and photograph: Matej Čolig
